I was absolutely thrilled to be among the guests invited to the soft opening of The Orchard Social Restaurant. For local food lovers, a sneak peek at a major venue renovation is always exciting. Even better, the new Restaurant Manager, Russ, invited me to bring friends and explicitly asked for constructive notes to help his team polish operations ahead of their official grand opening on August 8th.

Here is an inside look at what you can expect from this beautiful new community hub. First, the compliments: the new layout is gorgeous, completely reimagining both the indoor and outdoor spaces. The Outdoor Patio overlooking the signature 18th golf hole has been dramatically expanded with canvas canopies, cozy fireplaces, and ample seating, making for an incredible summer evening atmosphere. Inside, the Dining Room offers sweeping views of the course, stunning fireplaces, and dedicated private dining areas perfect for gatherings. Meanwhile, the Sports Bar has been expanded with a 360-degree bar completely wrapped around the center, flanked by televisions visible from every single angle.

As for the main event, the food was a total hit. Every member of our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The culinary team did a fantastic job delivering on flavor and presentation across a wide variety of dishes. The Pit Master Nachos was a crowd-pleaser that vanished from the table in minutes. The French Onion & Braised Brisket Pinsa offered rich, savory French onion flavors paired perfectly with tender brisket on a beautifully crisp crust, while the Parmwich Sandwich and Classic Chicken Vesuvio were hearty, comforting, and executed flawlessly. If there is any room for growth as they finalize their menu, our table felt it could benefit from just a bit more variety to match these stellar offerings—adding a hearty pasta dish, more dinner salad options, and a second fish entrée would beautifully round out the current selections.

Because soft openings are explicitly designed to test a restaurant's limits, we did encounter one operational bottleneck: our table’s cocktail order took too long to arrive. However, managing a party of 12 is a heavy logistical challenge for any seasoned crew, let alone a team learning a brand-new space. Drink pacing for large groups is a classic soft-opening hurdle, and it’s precisely the kind of workflow data Russ and his team were looking to smooth out before the official launch. Launching a venue of this scale takes an immense amount of coordination, and we truly appreciated the hard work and hospitality the staff showed us throughout the evening. The bones of this restaurant are incredible, the design is top-notch, and the kitchen is already firing on all cylinders. We are so excited to see how this space evolves and look forward to returning after the grand opening on August 8th. Cheers to the team on a great preview run!
